KMPs

Kinesthetic Motion for Phonemes

The Kinesthetic Motions for the Phonemes (KMPs) are used to teach speech, articulation, and Phonemic Awareness. The KMPs make learning memorable, engaging, and fun for both students and teachers. Teachers can SEE what learners are hearing! Learning how sounds and letters are related is critical to the long-term learning and mastery of reading and writing.

Reading & Writing Monster

Letter ID, Formation & Directionality

The Reading & Writing Monster is a fun-loving character placed on the left of any writing surface. It teaches letter names, and connects sounds and letters. The Monster's stories make learning to write letters easy they direct learners to stroke towards or away from the monster. The KMP (sound) that goes with each letter is embedded in each monster story.

Language Calendar

Modeled Written Language

The Language Calendar is a structure for modeling written language daily and features how letters, sounds, and words work together in the English language. It's where PIM teachers model how we get our thoughts onto paper. Of course, all of the other components are integrated and pulled into the LC. Teachers use the LC to develop state standards for early literacy.

Vowel House

Vowel Sounds & Spellings

The Vowel House is your new home for phonics instruction. Vowel sounds organize the order that we teach phonics, using the KMP motions. The characters who live in each window of the VH teach language rules in a fun way as kids learn the primary and alternate spelling patterns in our language. The VH is a graphic organizer that is used in first graders and beyond. It's your go-to tool for teaching spelling!

LACI DANIELSON

Homeschool Parent

I finally have a way to teach phonics in a fun and easy way. The training and resources made me feel confident in my teaching. We started with the KMPs back in preschool, and now we're in first grade working on harder spelling patterns with the Vowel House. I love that it has supported my family for years, and my kids grow with the program year after year. My kids are excelling and they LOVE their Phonics in Motion time.
